Freelance Marketing Manager Jan 2019 - July 2019

Brainchild is a year-round producing arts company who also run Brainchild Festival, a weekend music and arts festival celebrating creativity, bold ideas & DIY spirit at a peer-to-peer level. My role involved the full marketing mix of social media, press, event/Festival marketing, managing volunteers, website, email, graphic design and administration/budget management. I worked closely with Creative Director Marina Blake to manage the marketing of the event in its' first year of receiving arts council funding. We sold out of tickets and it was the largest & most successful festival to date.

Working closely with internal designers, as well as artistic producers and marketing & press colleagues, I was responsible for managing a diverse range and scale of arts marketing campaigns spanning dance, theatre, music, art, debate, outreach as well as art direction for large projects such as Brighton Dome’s community fundraising appeal and managing the annual Brighton Festival campaign - a 3-week arts festival with over 150 events each May.
Highlights of my achievements: copy/design editor for the Brighton Festival brochure in 2017 – Kate Tempest, and 2018 – David Shrigley, outdoor, advertising & print campaign for Brighton Festival from 2016-18, concept/direction of Brighton Dome’s public fundraising appeal, concept/editor for Brighton Dome feat. an annual music zine I began producing from 2014, autumn season campaign management & annual budget planning, and activist/representative for Brighton Dome Green Team.
I've also worked on coordinating marketing/branding for associate projects such as Brighton Dome SPECTRUM, Brighton Dome Miss Represented, Brighton People's Theatre & Brighton Festival's Your Place.

I run a youth dance company where I teach Contemporary & Jazz dance to students aged 8-18. I also help run social media channels, designed the brand & website for the dance studio, and design all marketing materials.
Dance Sparks
Creative Director, July 2019 – current
I run a workshop/intensive business, where I book exciting and dynamic dance teachers and in-demand choreographers from around the UK and beyond. The teachers join local Sussex-based programmes of dance workshops that I run in holidays and at weekends. I have now run a successful Summer Intensive of 4-days, Autumn Intensive of 3-days and a 1-day weekend workshop and turned over a profit in my first year.

Arts Coordinator 2013 – 2014
I coordinated the programming, marketing and delivery of an autumn season and a 3-week long contemporary arts festival centred around mental health. Working alongside just two directors, my role included everything from brochure/website design, contracting & tech, artists bookings, general accounting using Sage, petty cash rec, bar & catering, ticket office, as well as managing marketing & coordinating with an external PR company.
